CONSCIENCE

 Conscience is part of our makeup. It is part of our soul. Our soul is made up of our thoughts, feelings, and will. This is separate from our spirit and our body. Our body contains our soul and our spirit. A born-again believer has the Holy Spirit within his spirit. The Holy Spirit communicates with our spirit. Our spirit reveals the things of God to our soul. Our soul communicates this to our body, which then acts on our soul’s thoughts and feelings. This is the Biblical understanding of our tripartite nature. This is my understanding, and others may view it differently.

Conscience

Our conscience determines how we will act in situations. Our conscience is affected by our thoughts and feelings and therefore can get corrupted. Some are even so damaged that they lack a conscience. This is hard to fathom but possible. Psychopaths are defined as people without a conscience. Conscience is the moral code for our actions. Our conscience determines how we will respond or react in a given situation. We could go against our conscience. Lies are one way we go against our conscience. A sensitive conscience could paralyse us into inaction. A severe conscience can do the same. Therefore, conscience is a vital part of our behaviour and operations.

Spirit

God put His Spirit within us to direct our thoughts and feelings. This is an operation that takes place beyond ourselves. God is Spirit, and He communicates with our spirit. Demons communicate with our soul. This is a major difference. Many in religious circles operate in the soul realm. They could be influenced by demons. This is why we see so much compromise in the church. Spirit-filled ministries need to be teaching the truth and not the lies of the devil. Sadly, the church has compromised its operations because they are mainly soul-based. It is time for the church to repent and turn from its wicked ways.
