Self-acceptance is the key to freedom from burdens. When you accept yourself, warts and all, then you are prepared to be the person you are. Anything else is a facade. When you put on a facade then you are labouring under the impressions of what other people think you are. This is a trap for other people do not think who you should be other than what you think they should think you should be. It finally comes to your own expectations of what you think other people want of you. This is to live under bondage of other’s perception of you which is of your own making. Other people may not think anything of you but you impose this perception on them. This is why self-acceptance frees you from this prison of your own making. Others may say things based on their perceptions of what you have displayed but it is their own interpretation or perception of what they see. You only know the real you. Only you can decide who you really are. You do this through self-acceptance. You did not choose the colour of your skin or your parents or the country of your birth. However, you decide how you market yourself. You choose how you will respond or react. Self-acceptance frees you from being the slave of others and cuts you free from soul ties that bind you to others. You are free to be you and not a creation of what others demand. Accept yourself in Christ, lay all your burdens on Him, and be free.
